messy out of place curls,

warm sick feeling that the long break is almost over.

When I was 15 I got my first camera. I had been borrowing my sister Jenny’s camera since I was 9 years old, actually, but my very own camera was given to me for Christmas by my aunt, Elaine & her daughter. It was a Kodak Cameo Motor-EX, fixed focus & auto flash. Nothing fancy about it, except for the photos it took. I discovered the lomography movement because people online thought I was shooting with an LCA.

My parents got me a digital camera when I was 16, and I gave my Kodak Cameo to my cousin, because hers had been run over by a car (I’m sure there’s a funny story in there somewhere) and I regretted it pretty quickly. The thing was, I was 16, I could not afford film development, I did love my digital camera, and later that year I got my hands on a film SLR, which reintroduced me to the fact that I could not afford film development, but still, I missed my Kodak Cameo.

Earlier this year I was lamenting this camera. Two days later, I met one at Goodwill for $2. So fortuitous I could cry.

It’s just as awesome as I remembered it, with 8+ years photographic experience on top, ala cherry.

In a creative slump,
seem to be in recovery.

Picking up 12 rolls of film today.

In the meantime, have something digital that makes me happy.
